Google Ads are the biggest and most reliable PPC ads on the Internet. However, for authors they are not a good choice for a few reasons - 1) They are very saturated - everyone is doing PPC Ads. 2) They do not let you target as well as Facebook or target as specifically to authors as Amazon. 3) Google does absolutely nothing if you are getting fake clicks or if you are getting clicks that are not relevant to what you are advertising for. 4) Overall, authors are small fish for Google and they really don't do anything to make it worthwhile

We strongly recommend avoiding Google Ads. You will require so much time and effort to understand their system, and they will pull the rug out from under your feet by adjusting everything. So then you will have to re-learn everything. Meanwhile, everyone and their mother are on Adwords/Google Ads. So very high competition. Facebook Ads are much better. Even Amazon Marketing Services Ads are better
